Celebrate the 69th anniversary of the sighting of the Flatwoods Monster, also known to his fans as “Braxxie,” by attending “Braxxie Bazaar,” in downtown Sutton, West Virginia on Saturday, September 11th , 2021. The Flatwoods Monster was originally seen in the town of Flatwoods, located in Braxton County, West Virginia on September 12th, 1952. The event will include film screenings, live presentations with West Virginia-based paranormal researchers, and a vender space. There will be free admission to the event, including all movie screenings.
The Elk Theatre will be screening films and hosting speakers all day for your viewing and listening pleasure. Film screenings will include the premiere of On the Trail of UFOs: Dark Sky, a documentary film centered on the UFO phenomena of West Virginia by Small Town Monsters. Additionally, Flatwoods, a narrative film about a documentary filmmaker who finds herself at the center of an alien conspiracy will premiere during the festival. Other films relating to the Flatwoods Monster and other paranormal topics will also be shown throughout the day.
In addition to these activities, the Haymond House, Mountain Laurel Country Store, and the Elk Hostel will be conducting special events throughout the day.
