2017 In Review, A Look At 2018
Adrienne here. 2017 was truly a landmark year for Small Town Monsters. We released two new films (The Mothman of Point Pleasant, Invasion on Chestnut Ridge), had our most successful release to date, and appeared on a Japanese television show. We signed a distribution deal with Terror Films and received wide-digital-release for Boggy and Mothman in November (Invasion to follow soon).
We were able to bring new creative talent to the STM team, adding CGI, animation, and stop motion to our new productions. These elements have opened a new door to storytelling we didn't have in the past, and we're excited to see them enhance the films.
Our production company also saw new growth in 2017, experimenting with new productions to add to our catalog. We teamed up with Director Aleksandar Petakov for the first installment of our new series "On the Trail of..." (to be released in 2018), and we started the weekly series "Small Town Monsters Presents: CaseFiles" (available on Amazon and YouTube).
All of these projects, of course, were made possible by our Kickstarter last January. As many STM fans will know, each year we raise funds through Kickstarter to help offset travel, production, equipment, and crew costs. All to ensure we can tell these stories in the best way possible. We also put a large portion of the money raised back into rewards for our backers, because at the end of the day the most important things to us are the stories we tell and who we tell them to.
In a few weeks we'll launch our 2018 Kickstarter. We have big plans for 2018 including the release of The Flatwoods Monster, Bray Road Beast, and On the Trail of... Champ. We also have some unannounced projects we're pretty excited about, and a few potential new ventures if time and funds allow. All-in-all 2018 looks to be another exciting year of growth for Small Town Monsters.
Thanks to you all for your continued support.
